The keyword “electromobility” or shorter eMobility has been gaining in importance on the German market for some time. On this subject, it is very important to not lose the connection with the international competition of the USA or China. Many automotive suppliers rely on the know-how of the company Noffz, which has already made a name for itself within a short time.
The requirements include, as in many areas, extensive tests. Finally, not only the charging electronics of the vehicle and the associated battery (EV = electric vehicle) have to be put to the test. The development and construction of appropriate charging stations or mobile charging cables (EVSE = electric vehicle supply equipment) is also part of the development of the necessary infrastructure.
It is precisely this equipment that places particular emphasis on safety. The necessary tests extend from the early detection of a possible polarity reversal of a private energy network, such as, e.g. Can occur during the charging of the vehicle in the domestic garage up to the correct tripping behavior of the FI switch or RCD. Furthermore, EV and EVSE are subjected to extreme climatic influences in order to meet all conditions worldwide.
All tests are, of course, carried out according to the user or according to valid IEC / UL or other standards. In connection with special hardware, Noffz uses the various possibilities of the Noffz UTP Test Execution Frontend. This makes it possible to integrate easily into the test sequences the many variants which are already obtained from the various coupler types (for example, SAE J1772, Type 2). Thanks to the special design of the hardware, all relevant signals can be measured and evaluated at the test time in conjunction with modular software development. For example, an analysis of the CP (control pilot) signal also allows for deeper insights during the test procedure.
